I think I'm recovered from my trip to Beijing. Spent about a week there visiting the Microsoft office ane working with the design team out there on a new project. It was pretty cool. Managed to eat a lot of duck, explore the Forbidden City, and climb part of the Great Wall. That was fun. Also managed to lose my cell phone, fall out of a chair during a meeting, and spill tea all over the conference room table. That was not so fun at the time, but still fun when I think about it. What a crazy city. So much construction and a weird mix between the modern skyscrapers and old hutongs (alleys). I hope they get the pollution under control.

 

Some interesting food out there. The street markets have all kinds of kebabs for really cheap. Lamb, chicken, beef, pork... then you get into the interesting stuff, like beetles, cicadas, locusts, and scorpions. I don't think people in Beijing believe in eating anything that doesn't contain at least 50% animal fat. I have to say the Peking duck is really good there (duh).

Check out this crazy bit of car integration from IME, a car accessory integrator. They brought a Nissan Z to the launch party and had it on display for all party goers. I think Q from James Bond would have been proud. Besides the obligatory dash dock for the Zune, there were *4* screens (5 if you include the Zune) including one mounted where the rear license plate should be. Now all the freeway communters will know what kind of sick videos you download from YouTube! Still, I like...
